The South Fulton Fire Dept. visited the South Fulton Elementary and middle schools in the beginning of the new year to promote the "Fire Safety" campaign for the upcoming year.  Fire prevention is an annual event that is practiced nation wide and generally takes place during the month of October.  The fire department will be taking the "Fire Safety" teachings with a greater ambition this year, "Fire prevention should be a household goal" says Chief Tommy Smith.  We're striving to get the public behind us on this, and we are going to be more aggressive towards teaching the children about fire safety".  The South Fulton Fire Dept will be visiting all daycares, schools and there will be open house during October's Fire Prevention Month.  The fire department encourages you to bring your family to the fire station anytime you would like a tour and to pick up any fire prevention materials they may have available.
